Scaling Mechanism and Permeability Evolution of Sandstone Reservoir

Abstract Knowledge of scaling mechanisms and the permeable behavior rocks is highly important for geothermal energy development. In this study, sandstone was soaked in a solution with same chemical composition as water Linyi City, Shandong Province. Permeability tests, scanning electron microscope nuclear magnetic resonance tests were performed on samples after different soak times (0, 30, 60, 90 days) temperatures (25 85 °C) to characterize changes microstructure permeability properties. addition, ion concentration solutions compared. The results show that wet mass porosity increase time (0-70 d), then entered stable periods (70-90 d). As soaking time, medium large pores inside are transformed into small pores. shows an overall decreasing trend, maximum decline when 30 d. At 25 °C, mainly involved by Ca 2+ , but at °C Mg also behavior. mechanism becomes joint participation . PHREEQC simulations almost laboratory test results, indicating sodium feldspar, potassium chlorite generated slowly during fouling process.
